On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the Foundation for Inspiring Indonesia’s Development (Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun – YIIM), in collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (INSIGHT), organized a beauty and cosmetology vocational training workshop to foster community self-reliance. The training was attended by 14 female participants aged 20 to 55 years, including one participant with visual impairment (low vision). Held from 09:30 to 15:30 WIB, the event took place at the YIIM Secretariat in South Jakarta.

The workshop commenced with opening remarks from Mr. Chrisbiantoro, Chairman of the YIIM Board. In his address, he emphasized the importance of maintaining an active learning spirit, high dedication, and keen engagement throughout the sessions so that participants can fully translate the knowledge gained into meaningful endeavors.

The makeup training was led by Regita Cahyani, an alumna of YIIM’s previous cosmetology training who currently manages her own wedding makeup enterprise, Gitaacms Wedding. Regita also holds official national accreditation from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). Trainees received thorough theoretical foundations alongside hands-on facial makeup practice. Each participant was equipped with an instructional training module compiled by YIIM and the coaching team, alongside a comprehensive personal makeup kit.

The curriculum covered essential core aspects of facial cosmetology. Participants were introduced to in-depth theoretical knowledge regarding varied skin types and their distinct characteristics, learning to accurately assess skin conditions to select the appropriate cosmetic products and tailored application methods.

Furthermore, participants gained detailed understanding of professional beauty implements, mastering their functions and optimal handling to achieve desired aesthetic results. During the practical session, trainees performed facial cleansing and makeup simulations under the direct supervision of the lead trainer and assistant trainer. Live makeup models were present, enabling participants to apply their techniques directly onto models while receiving individualized coaching to ensure correct technical execution.

The interactive Q&A session witnessed enthusiastic participation, as attendees inquired about advanced makeup techniques, matching and blending foundation for varied skin tones and textures, navigating the beauty service industry, and strategies for launching an independent cosmetology business.
