In commemoration of National Children’s Day 2024, the Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun Foundation (YIIM), supported by Insight Investments Management (Insight IM), through its Education Program pillar actively contributed to supporting education in Indonesia. National Children’s Day is celebrated as an important momentum to campaign for the fulfillment of children’s rights to life, growth, development, and meaningful participation in accordance with human dignity, as well as protection from violence and discrimination.

Quoting from the official website of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KemenPPPA), the theme of National Children’s Day 2024 is “Anak Terlindungi, Indonesia Maju” (Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia), the same theme as the previous year. This theme reflects the government’s commitment to continuously protect children’s rights so that they can develop well and contribute to the nation’s progress.

The education support was provided by YIIM together with Insight IM to children and communities in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. It was facilitated by the partner Yayasan Antara Cipta Karsa (Yayasan Naratas) through its activity unit called “Gerakan Muda Cendikia” under the Garda Bersama Desa Program 2024.

Based on a needs assessment at the target locations, data and information indicated that the main problem faced by village communities was access to education due to economic, environmental, and low parental awareness of the importance of education. In addition to education access issues, this situation was aggravated by children’s unrestricted access to negative content on the internet.

The Garda Bersama Desa Program 2024 was held from 13 to 20 July 2024 in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. YIIM together with Insight IM and Garda Cendekia provided Cendikia classes, community reading park facilities and management training, internet safety workshops for teenagers, and book donations for reading parks. The Garda Bersama Desa Program has provided better access to education and increased parental awareness of the importance of education for their children’s future.

This activity is part of YIIM’s Education Program, which is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, and SDG 17 on partnerships for achieving the goals. This program is also a form of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) by Insight IM to the community.

As a non-profit organization, YIIM is open to support and collaboration with any party so that more people can benefit from YIIM’s programs and YIIM can spread broader inspiration to help build Indonesia.

Salam Inspirasi!
