Traditional Indonesian Pastry and Snack Culinary Workshop Batch IV for Women Cooperative Members
YIIM, supported by PT Insight Investments Management in partnership with Titan Baking, organized the Batch 4 Baking Class for 20 cooperative members and aspiring culinary entrepreneurs in South Jakarta.

On Wednesday morning, October 16, 2019, enthusiasm radiated from the women gathering for a hands-on culinary masterclass organized by Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM). Held in collaboration with Titan Baking Cikajang—a premier provider of baking ingredients, pastry tools, and equipment—and supported by primary partner PT Insight Investment Management, the workshop took place at Titan Baking Cikajang, Jalan Cikajang No. 22, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, running from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM WIB.
The training welcomed twenty participants, predominantly members of Koperasi Gemah Ripah—a grassroots women’s cooperative established to foster household culinary businesses—alongside individual home bakers striving to scale their modest pastry ventures.
The session commenced with welcoming remarks from the Chairman of YIIM, Chrisbiantoro: “We hope this training inspires each of us in building economic self-reliance. May the participants gain practical techniques to elevate their budding culinary ventures. Let us transform our shared journey into a movement of empowering inspiration.” The event moved forward with theoretical guidance delivered by Titan Baking Cikajang’s professional chef instructors. Participants received complete recipe formulations and step-by-step guidance for crafting five popular traditional delicacies: crispy fried pastels, sesame-coated onde-onde, sweet rolled crepes (dadar gulung), steamed cup cakes (kue mangkok), and savory vegetable-filled risoles.
Beyond theoretical instructions, participants donned aprons and engaged in hands-on cooking practice within Titan Baking Cikajang’s commercial test kitchen. Furthermore, the cohort was treated to a guided store tour across the retail floor to study commercial baking ingredients, packaging solutions, and kitchen equipment.
One of the participants, Mrs. Maria Sanu from Pondok Kopi, expressed her delight: “This workshop substantially elevates my baking skills and culinary execution. Moving forward, I plan to encourage mothers from our neighborhood Family Welfare Program (PKK) to join upcoming classes.” Echoing this sentiment, Mrs. Wanma Yeti added: “We are deeply moved by this opportunity. We sincerely hope our partnership with the Foundation continues, enabling Koperasi Gemah Ripah to progress even further.”
This culinary training program stands as one of YIIM’s flagship socioeconomic empowerment pillars, dedicated to inspiring progress across Indonesia by nurturing sustainable entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
Salam Inspirasi!
